True to its Victorian architecture, the Whistling Swan Inn, my bed and breakfast in the heart of the New Jersey Skylands, boasts two beautiful fireplaces. One is located in the foyer – the other in my back parlor. Nothing conjures up the image of a perfect weekend at a country inn like a cozy fire.

Recently…ahem… yesterday…we had new gas inserts installed in each of our fireplaces. And, I must say, the results are spectacular.
The weather outside this January may be frightful, but the fire is delightful. Why not plan a quick, albeit romantic, getaway this month to my Victorian bed and breakfast? The sherry and the fire await.
